Good Afternoon! If you are arriving from Jennifer's Youtube then you are in the right place! Thank you for stopping by Scrapping For Tranquility where we are celebrating another small business this month! We are introducing you to the new, online magazine and card kits by Create and Inkspire !
I am in a wonderful hop group and we are doing a 6 month collaboration called #SameSetSyndrome where every month we highlight small, independently owned stamp companies each month. We as a group, want to introduce you to these companies that you may have never heard of or heard of but, when you went to buy, they were not the first to come to mind. We would like these wonderful companies TO BE THE ONES THAT COME TO MIND! Everyone in the hop get's a chance to work with a kit from the company for the month, one stamp set or possibly 2 stamp sets. Hence "same set syndrome".
Is there blog candy? Of course there is! You must visit, follow, leave a comment and watch all videos on all the hop's participants. There will be one name per participant that will be chosen by random to be chosen for a $50.00 Gift Certificate, of your choice at the end of the 6 month collaboration. This winner will be announce on December 10th on Allison Kulka's You Tube Page. ALSO, this month One random commentator from each hop stop will be put into a drawing and one out of those names will be drawn for this months prize of a Create and Inkspire Card kit! Good Luck!
There wasn't much I DIDN'T like about this kit. (actually there wasn't anything I didn't like!) LOL. I loved the sentiment "Friends bring color to your world " and decided to work off that.
What did I think of when I thought of that sentiment? I thought of what my world looked like if my world didn't have color a.k.a. friends. It would be pretty black and white huh? That is where I decided to start with making my card with my sentiment. Taking White and Black American Crafts Cardstock from 12 X 12 Cardstock Shop, I made my base at 5" X 7".
Then making a card front at 4.75" X 6.75", I took an embossing folder by Darice called Argyle and embossed my card front.
Using my cameo 3, I made 3 scalloped squares at 2 inches. For my flowers , I wanted to watercolor them so I used watercolor paper and cut them at 1.75 " X 1.75 ". Put them in my Misti and stamped the three flower stamps from the July kit.
Using Nuvo Watercolor pencils I colored my images, topping the center off with Nuvo Crystal drops-Gloss in Carnation Pink. Set them aside to dry.
Cutting a diamond shape from my cameo 3, I stamped the Friends sentiment on the diamond and then inked my edges with Catherine Poolers's Ink, Rose Petals that I purchased from Del Bello's Designs.
All I had left was assembly, Putting my flowers on the scalloped black squares and lining them up on my card front, I used Pink Gingham ribbon to tie around the card front, then glued down my card front on to the base. Gluing down my sentiment on my card front, I was finished and I was very happy with my card. I hope you find it as pretty as I did!
Leave me a message and let me know what you think!
