Best Friends

Good Morning!    Another month and another Challenge at DCWV.     I just Love their Challenges because they make me step out of my comfort zone .  I really liked this month's sketch but again this made me step out of my "zone" and made me think out of my box.  Let me show you.

Doesn't look too bad huh?  To a girl that does mostly paper piecing anymore I couldn't think on what I wanted to do this on .  When I remember I had a picture that I had been struggling with the same thing....a layout I couldn't find for it.   MY BESTIE!

My bestie and I have been friends since 2012 but never met in person till this last summer.  We have been skyping and talking everyday thanks to social media and became very close and like sisters but just never met.  Last summer I went to Utah and met her.  I wanted this to be special so I used the small signs along the side to describe her and our friendship.  Of course I topped it off with a small journal box about us.

I just love the way it turned out.  Thanks DCWV for another great month!  See you next month

DCWV February stack-a-holics Challenge Submissions.

Can you believe that February is almost over already?  The month has just flown by and I am just getting to my submissions for all the contests.   UGH~  I think I will only get to a  couple .  :)   Of Course I would Never want to skip DCWV!  I just love their Stack-a-holic Challenge every month.  If you have never heard of it , you need to use one of their wonderful stacks on at 75 percent of your project and they provide a layout and a card sketch for you to choose to do one or both.  This month I did both.
First here is the Layout sketch:

Here is my take on it:

I used the stripes and polka dot stack and the Summer cardstock stack by DCWV.

Next we had the card sketch:
Here is my take on the sketch:

As you can see I turned the sketch on the side first off and then I used the Spring Mix Stack with the Summer Cardstock Stack.

I hope you enjoy them both and until next time.....

Blessings,

Here is what I created for the hop:
From the JGW Dino Party Kit I created a 1st birthday banner for my grandson's first birthday next month.  It came out so large I couldn't get it all in a good picture so here is a short video.  Please take a look.

The next thing I made is the invitations from the cards in the JGW Dino Party Kit.  The Dino cards make EXCELLENT invites!  I just printed on printer paper the insides and glued them in the dino cards.   PERFECT!

Valentines Cards and Oriental Trading

Good Monday Morning!  I hope you all are getting a great start to your week!  I wanted to share with you a few Valentines cards I made with almost all the embellishments being from Oriental Trading .  I just love their Scrapbooking and crafting supplies and hope you will give them a try!  Take a look at what I used!

First I made this Puppy Love card .  The SVG is from Treasure Box Designs.  But look at the cute embellishments that set off the card !  First the XOXO Flat Brads is sooo wonderful for any love card or layout.  They come in blue and red and the pink and red.  Then the Heart Button  is a part of a  Valentine Button Pack that has lips, the heart ,a glitter round button.  You can not go wrong with that set!  Just love it!

The Second card I made was a gate card with a SVG again from Treasure Box Designs.   This time I enlarged the heart on the SVG, to use one of the  super cool stamps that come in this stamp set ,at Oriental Trading called Be Mine Valentine Clear Stamp Assortment.  It fit perfect and looks super neat!  I then topped  off her shoes with  Itty Bitty Heart Brads that come with 4 different colors, light pink, dark pink, white and gold.

The third card I made was again an SVG from Treasure Box Designs.  I also again used the XOXO Flat Brad.  I then topped it off with some Gorgeous Ribbon they have called Red/Pink Ribbon Assortment .  Wow do you get a lot on this card of Ribbon and do I love the colors!  I have used this for many projects since.   LOVE LOVE LOVE!

My final card was againRed/Pink Ribbon Assortment.  I then put 3 tiny rhinestones from the Self-Adhesive Valentine Pearls & Jewels.  These Jewels and Pearls are just GORGEOUS and very Sticky!  Most the time even when they say self adhesive you still have to add some kind of glue but these I did not.  Love that!  And Last but not least, to top off her shoes, I used the red rhinestone heart brads from Oriental Trading that is no longer available.
the SVG from Treasure Box Designs.  I again used that

I want you all to know that on all projects I used Stick-Em Adhesive Dots Assortment for my adhesive .  This is Oriental Trading brand of Dots and I have tried MANY adhesive dots and THIS IS NOW MY GO TO AND FAVORITE!  They are wonderful for the right price!  Give them a try!

Thank you for joining me on my first Oriental Trading blog post all my products I received from Oriental Trading were Superb!  I would definitely refer you all to use their products .

The review of these products is based strictly on my opinion.  Others may have a different experience or opinion with the products listed above.  I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading  Co. and I provided my honest opinion.  No other type of compensation was received for this review.

Mourner's Hat

Good Morning!  It is a beautiful Monday morning here and I wanted to share a Halloween project with you.  I choose the unique Mourner's hat in the JGW Raven Quest  at SVG Attic.  It is my first project with them as Guest Design Team Member.
I am always looking for unique Halloween decorations for Halloween.  It is my youngest daughter's favorite holiday.  She even got married on Halloween 2 years ago and collects many beautiful pieces to keep up all year round.  I thought this was something she could add to her collection.

Here are some close ups of the Flowers which are made by Prima.  I just fell in love with these flowers when I found them and they have been in my stash FOREVER and was saving them for that special project.  Well....this was that project.
Next came the bling!  Every project isn't complete without a little bit of bling!  This is Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.
Last by not least I made the bow but added Mays art Black Ribbon to the center and around the brim of the hat.  I also added  a beautiful full purple feather and a small turquoise with black feather for that small touch of extra color.
I hope you have enjoyed my mourner's hat as much  I did making it .  Have a wonderful Sunday and a BEAUTIFUL week!

Blessings!

Happy Birthday To You!

Good Afternoon My Bloggy friends!  I am stopping in today show you a card I made for a dear friend's birthday coming up.  Until then , the crafter in me is of course going to enter it in a couple of challenges!  (teehee!)

First the Challenge at Pink and Main.  While I am in desperate need of their beautiful stamps and am IMPATIENTLY waiting for my first order, I decided to go ahead and enter a challenge anyhow.  It is a birthday challenge so this went perfect.  I used a birthday stamp I already owned from Hobby Lobby , Flowers are Prima , last but not least brings me to my papers.  That brings me to my last challenge,  Stack-a-holic United at DCWV.  All my papers are from the stack  Lemon Flower and the Summer Cardstock stack.

Thank you for having me in my first challenges at these places and thank you for joining me!

Blessings!

Old Fashion Scrapping!

We went on a beautiful vacation this summer which was long time coming.  To be able to do this we had to drive.    My husband and I have took our 7 year old grandson so he could experience the natural wonders and beautiful parks of the USA!  We covered 14 states in 10 days.  Starting here in Indiana and going down to The Grand Canyon and ending the biggest part at Mount Rushmore.    It was such a beautiful time!  A lot of traveling but soooo much fun!

My problem now is to figure out how to scrap all these pictures.  I have at LEAST 300 or more pictures.  As you all know my go to scrapping is Paper piecing.  I decided my heart was into putting these beautiful  photos  back to my roots and my heart to old fashion scrapping.  I hope you enjoy this layout and the ones that come as I just do some OLD FASHION SCRAPPING in the days to come.

Our first major stop along the way was Winslow , AZ.  I am a huge Eagles fan and I had to "stand on the corner of Winslow, AZ.  " , On ol' Route 66.

I look forward to talking to you all the next time!  Happy Scrapping!

Blessings!
