Trendy Twine-Guest Designer

Ten more days till Christmas !  (But, who is counting, right?)  Christi here with my last December's Guest Designer post for Trendy Twine .  I always love when Lesley and the gang at Trendy Twine grace me with this honor!  Who can't resist Trendy Twine's Bakers Twine????  I know it is on the top of my Christmas list!

For my last project  here in December, I want to share with you another Christmas card I made for a special friend.

I found something similar in a magazine , like my last post , but of course had to make this mine.

I started off with a white base folding it in half and putting a red Piece of AC Card stock on top of this .  I then pulled out my DCWV stack, Winter Solstice for the pattern snow flakes.  I Glued all three down together .

I brought out my Nested , Stitched Circles from Pink and Main and laid them in the middle of the front of the card.  (making sure to not have the back of my card in the way.)  And ran it through my Big Shot to cut out the 3 inch circle.

Taking a 3 inch die and a 4 inch die I then cut out the frame to go around the circle. and set it aside for later.

Cutting 5 , 3 1/2 inch pieces of Frosted Cranberry Trendy Twine, I proceeded to lay ATG Tape around the circle edge then stretching the twine from one side to the other .  Keeping the twine at the top of the circle close together and spread out at the bottom.
When the Twine was laid out I put the ATG tape over the top of the twine edges around the circle edges again to now lay the frame I cut out earlier.  I proceeded to put Glitter Glue around the frame and set aside to dry.
I cut out a 1 1/2 in circle and a shadow for my sentiment and picked out a sentiment from a stamp set I had in my stash.  Once my glitter glue was dry I glued my sentiment on at the bottom of my circle and made a bow out of my Frosted Cranberry Trendy Twine and draped it down the sides of my circle .  To finish it off, I added clear snowflakes and added red and blue bling to the centers to match my twine.

Here is what I used from Trendy Twine:

I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and a VERY Happy New Year!

Blessings,

Guest Designer for Miss Kate's Cuttables

Hello!  Christi from Scrapping For Tranquility here!  I am stopping in to share my Guest design post for Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I just love her files!

Here is what I made:

I made a Diamond Fold card with the files I Love you Snow MuchWinter Owl and Girl-Winter Owl.  I just fell in love with these little winter owls as soon as I seen them.  I thought they made a "perfect couple".

Here is the Diamond Fold Card in the open position.
This is where I put the "I Love you Snow Much " sentiment.  I also made extra snowflakes that came with the files to decorate the card.

I used AC Cardstock for all my solids and I used DCWV , The Winter Solstice Stack for the Pattern paper.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and will leave me a comment!  I love to hear what you think!

Blessings,

Christmas Parade Layout

Hello Scraping Tranquility Fans!  I wanted to stop in and share a layout I made for our towns 2015 Christmas Parade.  I am using the sketch for Lets Scrap Challenge and here it is:

When I seen the layout I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap with it.  Without further ado here is what I created:

I started with White AC Cardstock as my base and then I chose my all time favorite stack company, DCWV and used their Holiday Cheer Stack to make my octagons and banners.  It is such a fun stack.

Here is a close up of the right side .

Here is a close up of the left side.

I made the title in Scal 4 on my cameo 3 and did word journaling for the bullet journaling in the top right corner and called it a day.

I hope you enjoy my layout as much as I enjoyed making it.

I am entering it in the Lets Scrap Sketches Challenges.

Blessings,

Christi

TRICK OR TREAT!!

Hello Folks!  Christi here from Scrapping For Tranquility!  So glad you are stopping in to join us!  I want to share with you my Halloween project!  Without further ado....

I made the Bewitched Cabin from the Haunted Forest SVG set from SVGCUTS.COM.
I truly enjoyed putting this together.  I have had this file for years and have put it off and finally took the time to build it and wonder now why I took sooo long.

I used AC Solid Cardstock through out and DCWV Halloween Stack for the printed cardstock.  I made sure to ink all my edges in a dark gray to age it and to make it look more spooky.  I then took battery operated lights and set inside (the roof lifts off) to light up the windows which is made of vellum.

I hope you all enjoy my project and thank you for hopping with us!

Now hop on over to my talented, dear friend, Shannon's Blog

Snow Globe-Cutting Cafe August 8th Post

Good Morning SFT and Cutting Cafe Fans!  I want to share a "Christmas in August" project I have for you!

Regina , the owner of The Cutting Cafe, wanted us to make a Christmas project, since we only post twice a month and missed "Christmas in July".

Here is what I chose:

This card you can purchase a lone or in a set of 9 other shaped Shakers for $6.50!  What a deal!

For my sentiment I used a sentiment from the Snowman Family Shaped Card.
I thought it fit just perfect with the "snow" theme.

How I made this card is, I used AC cardstock for my base,  Then used printed cardstock from DCWV Winter Stack.  I wanted this to glisten a lot like snow so I used a lightly, covered, white , glitter cardstock for the inside of the globe.  For the frame I used a VERY shimmery silver from DVWV's Halloween Cardstock .

For my shaker, I used some different shades of blue sequence set I had in my stash.  Then added sterling silver micro beads by Martha Stewart and Silver Spark Tinsel by American Crafts .  I mixed the 3 together and I really love the way  it turned out.  The little lines on my glode is the tinsels pieces .

To top it off, I used some Blue Berry Trendy Twine.
I just dont feel a project is complete without my Trendy Twine!

Thank you for joining me today at Scrapping For Tranquility.

Until the next time,

Blessings,

Christi

On to my Project!

I made a layout with the characters from the movie Frozen.  My 2 year old granddaughter, Little Miss (Jaelyn), is a HUGE Frozen fan and that is ok,we consider her our Little Princess, hence the title.

My characters are from the "Let IT Go " File from Cuddly Cute Designs.  I paper pieced them and inked each one individually using AC Cardstock and various different Chalk inks.

The background paper is also AC Cardstock while the pattern paper is from DCWV Winter Stack last year.  The twine on the photos are Totally White Annies Paper Boutique/Trendy Twine.  The Snowflake buttons are from Buttons Galore And More.

Thank you for stopping by and I would appreciate your comments and I will answer you back!

Blessings!

Best Friends

Good Morning!    Another month and another Challenge at DCWV.     I just Love their Challenges because they make me step out of my comfort zone .  I really liked this month's sketch but again this made me step out of my "zone" and made me think out of my box.  Let me show you.

Doesn't look too bad huh?  To a girl that does mostly paper piecing anymore I couldn't think on what I wanted to do this on .  When I remember I had a picture that I had been struggling with the same thing....a layout I couldn't find for it.   MY BESTIE!

My bestie and I have been friends since 2012 but never met in person till this last summer.  We have been skyping and talking everyday thanks to social media and became very close and like sisters but just never met.  Last summer I went to Utah and met her.  I wanted this to be special so I used the small signs along the side to describe her and our friendship.  Of course I topped it off with a small journal box about us.

I just love the way it turned out.  Thanks DCWV for another great month!  See you next month

DCWV February stack-a-holics Challenge Submissions.

Can you believe that February is almost over already?  The month has just flown by and I am just getting to my submissions for all the contests.   UGH~  I think I will only get to a  couple .  :)   Of Course I would Never want to skip DCWV!  I just love their Stack-a-holic Challenge every month.  If you have never heard of it , you need to use one of their wonderful stacks on at 75 percent of your project and they provide a layout and a card sketch for you to choose to do one or both.  This month I did both.
First here is the Layout sketch:

Here is my take on it:

I used the stripes and polka dot stack and the Summer cardstock stack by DCWV.

Next we had the card sketch:
Here is my take on the sketch:

As you can see I turned the sketch on the side first off and then I used the Spring Mix Stack with the Summer Cardstock Stack.

I hope you enjoy them both and until next time.....

Blessings,
